I will photograph all the little details that are so special about this time…the milk spots, soft downy hair, flakes of new skin, feathery eyelashes and teeny tiny fingers and toes

Lasting around two hours, newborn baby sessions are always baby-led, taking as many breaks as your newborn baby needs.

My approach to newborn baby photography has a timeless feel, focusing on tiny details using natural light. Every shoot is different and unique to you and your newborn baby.

My 10 years of experience and a large collection of baby blankets always come in handy!

Approach

Here’s my approach to achieving a collection of shots you’ll treasure for years to come.

unique to you

Each baby portrait session is individual to you and your family. I don’t come with a shot list or set poses…we just document all the real life magic that is unique to you and your clan on that particular day.

Natural

I use only natural light to photograph babies, and I don’t put people into awkward poses. This helps us to collaborate to make natural and unmanufactured images. I edit the images in a timeless style, so that you have both colour and black & white images that won’t date.

03.

Poetic, everyday moments

I truly believe that beauty can be found in small and every day moments. A lot of it has to do with seeing how the light falls onto things…and people.

real life

All my sessions are baby led, and we work around all their immediate needs. I will make sure that your life is documented with honesty, using an observant eye for detail.

I recommend checking in with me once you have a due date, so that I can be sure to fit you in the diary once the baby arrives. If you would like a newborn baby photoshoot, these take place in the first 2 weeks. However, lots of people don’t feel ready until the baby is a few weeks or months old, which is still a wonderful time for your photographs.

Newborn baby sessions take place in the comfort of your own home. Usually we will only use a couple of rooms, and only the areas of the space that have good natural light. There is no need to tidy the whole place!

Once you book, I will guide you on what to wear. i have a wide range of baby blankets and a few things to wear as well which I always bring.

I try to work very quickly, so that new parents can get on with all their many tasks! I am so much faster than when I started 10 years ago! A newborn session lasts up to 2 hours, but no longer.

My standard turnaround time for delivering edited photos is approximately 3 weeks. All images are edited by me and are delivered as high res digital files.
